Melissa Dobney will share her story of recovery as a victim of abortion and her passion to help other women be free of the resulting physical, emotional and spiritual bondage that accompanies abortion.  We will spend two weeks on this important and difficult topic of abortion and pregnancy.  Melissa will give help, hope and encouragement to women who are victims and clarity to those weighing a pregnancy termination.

Melissa Dobney is a transformational programs coordinator for Love In The Name of Christ and a co-leader for Embrace Life, a post abortion ministry at Calvary Chapel. She is blessed to be a mother of four children; two daughters that she carried to full term, one child she aborted, and one child that she miscarried.

Melissa is a born again believer that accepted Jesus Christ as her savior in 2006 just shortly after she started attending Calvary Chapel of Boise.  She was later baptized in 2007, while she believed she was a new creature in Christ, the accuser’s voice continued to taunt her about her abortion.

In 2010, Melissa could no longer deny the secret that she had been hiding for fourteen years because God placed her in a prayer meeting next to the Embrace Life leader at the time. That day Melissa confessed her abortion and she was invited to attend the next Embrace Life retreat. Since the retreat was handled with the utmost confidentiality to protect the participant’s identity, Melissa decided to attend.

It was at the retreat that Melissa received forgiveness and healing.  God planted a seed in her heart that she would one day become involved in post abortion ministry.

Melissa’s training started right away and she has been a co-leader since 2011.

In 2014, God placed a burden on her heart to step out and put a face to this ministry. As a leader, she could no longer stand back and be silent.

In 2015, he asked her to take this ministry into the prison and to partner with other agencies and churches.
With the recent press releases of the Planned Parenthood videos, Melissa wants to reach out to both men and women who have been affected by the consequences of abortion.
